  30. I think the solution is to make your default PK path include
  31. $MAKETEX_MODE, and then set that envvar (with putenv or xputenv or
  32. whatever). As a bonus, MakeTeXPK ought to work.

  34. I'm sorry the C interface is not documented in the manual; a couple
  35. other people have had to struggle along reading the .h files to try to
  36. get a handle on what's going on. Perhaps I'll write some documentation
  37. on it sometime, but I wouldn't hold my breath. In the meantime, it might
  38. be useful to look at how I mangled dvips and xdvi to get them to work ...
